Open Question: Why don't job sites have a uniform job category list?

It's so overwhelming when looking for jobs within a given field and every site has different search categories. It confuses me as to what I should really be typing in. I'm looking for anything in Journalism/Media/Communication. Is that terminology what I should be typing in? Is that what I should be looking for or should I be more specific (job title wise) or, perhaps, is there another category that covers all of it.
